That's what I meant. The Germans were outnumbered and the winter ate them away. As for stealth ships, do they need to come out of cloak to fire? I should think so, but If not I'm sure they can still track the ship's signal with missles from TIE-Bombers and Defenders, if we have them in this time period.

Yes, that would make sense. If a laser cannon matierialezed(sp?) out of thin air, you would be able to track the heat. But only for an extremly small amount of time. So, the strategy would be to dive the fighters in, unnanounced, and fire missles at the bridge and at the sheild generators, the latter being first. Then, a lightspeed microjump, co-ordinates already inputed.
This would be highly succesful, but cheap as well. I'll probably exclude the microjump.

I meant the heat of the engines, but whatever. What about the sheilds?

The counter tactic for the attacker would be to jump in with sheilds overcharged, not letting anything solid get past the sheilds. But this would marginalize the fleet, they would not have the offensive capability that Star Destroyers are famous for.

Right. And by the way, the sheild generator is very deep inside.

Well, in the book (just found this book, it just came out) hmm... uh oh I can't rember the name...I think Star wars Technology, it said that stealth generators could supress heat and light, as well as sensors, but they could not supress com transmissions, or the actual firing of the weapons.

Right. And by the way, the sheild generator is very deep inside. Of a SSD?

Right. And by the way, the sheild generator is very deep inside. umm... actually the primary shields of an sd are on top of the conning tower, and the bridge shields of an SSD are in the same spot. it's not hard for a simple micro jump into the shield's protected area, thus nutralizing their effectiveness. this was originally countered by moving the shields to mere centemeters away from the hull, often on both sides. however in the later years of the empire they didn't have the time to produce such precise calculations so... it'd be a perfectly sound idea for a bit later in the RP timeframe..

actually that space was most often used for command escape pods. (i forget the name of the book, it's the one where Dala attacks the NJO temple, and castila blows her ship up in responce.)

They're senor pods, not shield generators or escape pods...did you read the whole thing?
